How We Help

Hope 4 Kidz provides medical, learning and leisure equipment for children and young people who suffer from a severe illness or disability, as well as those enduring other extreme circumstances, such as poverty or abuse, who find themselves in need of respite and relief.

Since our inauguration in September 2007, we have provided these essential services 24-hours a day, 365 days a year, improving young lives that fall outside Government aid and social services restrictions and caring for those who simply wouldn’t receive such assistance from anywhere else.

Hope 4 Kidz receives no Government funding, so our funds are raised entirely through in-store fundraising, street collections, black tie balls, sponsored bike rides and music concerts, as well as through individual and company donations, Gift Aid and sponsorship to name but a few.

The charity’s first individual beneficiary, Hannah McDonald, is a shining example of how we are making a difference.   Hannah suffers from an extremely rare genetic disorder, chromosome deletion syndrome, which means she is unable to eat, drink or sit up and has problems with her lungs. To make matters more difficult Hannah also has a congenital heart condition and had to undergo several major operations before she was two years old.

In April 2008 Hope 4 Kidz gifted Hannah with a special fibre optic lily pad to help stimulate her brain and vision and encourage more interaction.  Within a few weeks Hannah was showing immense improvements and can now shout for her parents, move her limbs and roll over unaided.

In the years since the charity was established we have supported more than 2200 children like Hannah, providing them with whatever they need to improve their lives, from fun-filled goody bags to expensive pieces of medical-related kit.
