Boxing event with Perth Green Community Centre, Boldon Amateur Boxing Club, Biltion Hall. £19,020 was raised, £960 of came to Hope 4 Kidz and the rest went to other good causes
The Unicorn Riding Centre in Hemlington (Middlesbrough) has been a beneficiary of Hope 4 Kidz since 2007 when it was first gifted proceeds selection boxes. The centre is the only one of its kind in the North East and provides riding therapy and learning opportunities for a wide range of disabled and disadvantaged children, young people and adults, with more than 170 attendees every week.
Portland College, A Specialist School for Cognition and Learning in Sunderland, caters for young people with severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and autistic spectrum disorder (ASD). In 2009, Hope 4 Kidz gifted the school with £100 to help equip the students with weatherproof outdoor clothing so that they could participate in the Duke of Edinburgh Awards and the Mayor of Sunderland Awards.
In 2009, Hope 4 Kidz made a monetary donation towards the running costs of Middlesbrough-based hospice Zoe’s Place. The charity provides a home away from home for babies who have life limiting or terminal illnesses, as well as varying degrees of special and complex needs and offers palliative and respite care for babies/infants from birth to five years old. Zoe’s Place has also been a recipient of selection boxes and goodie bags donated to Hope 4 Kidz during our previous Christmas appeals.
In 2009, Hope 4 Kidz lent its support to the Lesley’s Dream Appeal by North East charity Daisy Chain. The appeal was designed to raise funds to build a vital day care centre at Daisy Chain’s 5.5 acre farm in Stockton-on-Tees, which caters for children and their families living with Autism. Hope 4 Kidz joined supporters from around the region in pledging a monetary contribution to cover the cost of bricks to build the centre.
