Elves and Santa's took to the roads of Washington to run a three-mile route from Biddick Academy to the Cross Keys Pub. The event was organised by runner Angela Rathbone. It is the first Santa fun run the Washington Club has hosted since it was re-launched last October. The club raised an amazing amount of £175.45 for Hope 4 Kidz good causes.
A brilliant day and a big thank you to MMD Parties for arranging the party to benefit Hope 4 Kidz. Over 100 beneficiaries at the event which included Lickerty Split Ice Cream, Buffet, Face Painting, Meet and Greet Princess Characters, Frozen Singalong and a Superhero show.
We were lucky enough to be chosen as Ringtons charity of the year in 2015 and they raised a staggering £7120 with match funding from the community foundation. A massive thank you to all a Ringtons for your support.
Actor Tim Healey is a star of stage and screen. Best known for his role in Auf Wiedersehen, Pet he is arguably one of the most famous faces to hale from the North East and has been an avid supporter of the charity since the very beginning.
Denise is also a proud patron of Hope 4 Kidz in her native North East and is known nationwide for her TV appearances in shows such as Coronation Street and Waterloo Road, as well as her presenting role on ITV’s Loose Women.
Vin is the head of the Welch acting dynasty, which includes his daughter Denise, and has clocked up dozens of appearances on stage and screen, including roles in Heartbeat, The Bill, Coronation Street and Emmerdale.
Jazz musician Peter Grant is one of the UK’s rising stars and has appeared at many of Hope 4 Kidz’s fundraising events, both as a performer and an invited guest.
Former journalist and leading public relations expert Bernice Saltzer has been involved with Hope 4 Kidz since its original conception and her company Sorted Public Relations currently handles publicity on the charity’s behalf.
World famous magician Christian Glenwright is a former British Grand Prix Champion of Magic and has provided entertainment at several of the charity’s fundraising events.
Sunderland artist Ursula Apreda is renowned around the world for her unique paintings and murals and supports Hope 4 Kidz work to reach young people through creativity.
Lyndyann Barass, aka Spuggie in Byker Grove, now lives in Sunderland where Hope 4 Kidz is based and is a strong supporter of the charity’s work in the area.
Joanne is a qualified accountant who advices the charity and supports us with her time pro bono. She is also an avid runner and has also raised funds for the charity on numerous occasions.
Gary is a former English professional footballer who is most known for playing for Sunderland from 1984 to 1995. He now works as a radio pundit and has regularly commentates on Sunderland games, he currently is the Head Coach of the University of Sunderland's Men's 1st Team.
Kevin is a former English professional footballer who played for Sunderland from 1990 to 1999. Who now holds the position of senior professional development coach at Sunderland.
Ritchie is a former English professional footballer who played for Sunderland 1968 to 1975 and was part of the club's 1973 FA Cup Final winning side.
Bobby is a former Sunderland midfielder who captained Sunderland to victory in the 1973 FA Cup Final against Leeds.
